The Woodson-Dekle House

Is officially for sale!
It is going to be difficult parting with this house that we've called home for the past 3 years.  With the help of Charlie Whitney we have transformed it into quite a beauty nestled in the Historic Dawson Street Neighborhood.  With its renovated bathroom and kitchen, small but cozy bedrooms, and layout that was perfect for entertaining, the house served us well.
Our next project was to tap into the backyard where we could expand our entertaining outside.  It is full of potential and we had a lot of exciting ideas brewing (including a pool!), but we will leave that project for the next owners.
Farwell little white house.  We (dogs included) enjoyed every bit of you!

Contact Kathy Palmer, at First Thomasville Realty, if you are interested in purchasing it.
(It will be listed on their website later this week)

Moving Day!

These boys just assumed they were going for another wagon ride and walk.
On a familiar course on a pretty Spring afternoon.
Then they arrived at their new home.  Don't they look happy?!
Moving has been exhausting but our excitement has us going, going, going!
Maverick, on the other hand, needs to turn his doing-dial up a notch or two!

Long weekend in Grayton

This is the view at Grayton State Park where we take the airstream.  To the left (tucked under the trees) is where the campsites are, and to the right are the dunes at the beach.  This place is beautiful.
Since I didn't train for the half marathon (wouldn't recommend this) and I am having a little bit of "moving anxiety", the race wasn't the highlight of the trip.  No personal bests this year.
However, Brent did manage to win me a large Vera Bradley duffel bag!!  He couldn't hide his excitement!

Sunset in Grayton...
One more week until moving day and we start packing tonight. Hip! Hip!

Cedar Keyster

Growing up I always loved our trips to Cedar Key because we were there with a houseful of friends, we would walk or ride bikes to town for ice cream, and did I mention, I was with all of my friends?!
But this year I finally realized why Sasa and Grandaddy would drive to a little "dump town" with no beach weekend after weekend. This year, I actually woke to see the beautiful sunrise.  And I appreciated the hodge-podge group of people that travel there from all around the world.  And I ate seafood.  Good seafood!
I will say, it was awfully cold in the mornings, though!
But it quickly warmed up and was perfect for a bike ride to town.
Always looks the same...
Of course the best part is having wonderful friends to spend the weekend with!

And here is a video that Daddy made 28 years ago, when they were our age!

We're going to...

Europe this Spring!  Flying into Paris, making our way down to the French Riviera, then taking the high-speed train to London.  I hope it is as amazing as I remember it to be...

Occupy Tallahassee?

Seriously?  Shouldn't you be at work right now anyways?
And girlfriend, why can't you pay for your own health insurance, like the rest of us whose jobs don't pay for it?  Didn't your mom teach you not to go a day without insurance? Let me guess, you wanted the new iphone 4 and your hair-did instead of paying for health insurance. Wheesh...

Goodbye, Hello

Goodbye 2011...

And Hello 2012!

Brent's New Year's Resolution: Learn French (not sure where this came from!)
Nancy's New Year's Resolution: Drink a glass of water before coffee (I go for easy, do-able goals)

This morning we read our 2011 predictions (that we wrote last January 1st and haven't looked at since) and we were right about a couple of things: finished renovations, replaced the Jetta, invested in more Alpine Start, Brent's knees healing, and didn't buy any property.  No trip to Europe, though.  Bummer!

My Favorite Time of Day

Is the early morning on the couch with coffee and the heated blanket.  Of course it would be much more satisfying if I had already gotten in a run, but that just cuts into our coffee break too much.  It is going to be a sad day for Curtis when we put away the heated blanket for summer!
