My Favorite Time of Day
Is the early morning on the couch with coffee and the heated blanket. Of course it would be much more satisfying if I had already gotten in a run, but that just cuts into our coffee break too much. It is going to be a sad day for Curtis when we put away the heated blanket for summer!

First Fire of the Year!
Yesterday we hung garland at Lavish and had just enough left over for the mantel at Chez Sois. We then lit a crackling log, turned on the Christmas music, and enjoyed! Can you guess who liked the warm fire the most?
That's right. A bed in front of the fire with the lights dimmed is an ideal evening for Mr. Mav. I think Brent even carried him up to bed. Now that is one sweet life!

A busy week in review!
First, we decked the halls at Lavish,
Made a delicious (and lean) crock pot meal,
went to the FSU basketball game,
snuggled with Little before we went out of town,
Arrived in Miami!
to cheer on Garrison,
who had his best game of the year...
we strolled downtown Miami (yes, that is Steven Spielberg's $200,000,000 toy behind me, and yes, my celebrity radar was driving Brent crazy)
And we strolled South Beach,
Before dinner at El Gabiano's (Horace was in heaven)
And somehow, here I am back where I started, at Lavish!

this is amazing!
After living in Thomasville for two and a half years, we finally have a dining room table and chairs. Let me tell you, folks, you can entertain in Thomasville without a dining room table for only so long. This is a little foodie town! No more dragging our bistro tables outside for dinner with mosquitoes in the backyard or Japanese-style dinners at the coffee table! Now that we have a kitchen and dining room, I guess my only excuse for slacking on dinner will be Lavish.

Breakfast Nook
Breakfast nooks (as I like to call them) are no doubt one of my favorite spots in a house. They are
cozy, intimate, and typically the location where you start and finish your day. Preferably, in my
opinion, they are located in the kitchen, where inevitably most of the action takes place. And ideally
you would also have a log burning on the fire right next to it, an upholstered settee with a blanket, fresh
flowers on the table, and so on!
I am getting a little ahead of myself by posting these pictures (below) of our breakfast nook because we haven't finished moving everything where it belongs, completely decided on the chairs, and I only used my camera phone, but you get the gist of what we are working on!
The table (from CH Whitney) is a French wine tasting table and the chairs we like, but are still deciding on. One of the best parts... the working fireplace for chilly mornings. Can't wait!

Halloween on the porch
We just might have to do Halloween on the porch every year because we actually had a decent amount of trick-or-treaters. Curtis enjoyed being on patrol, Brent was in charge of the eerie music, I took advantage of the bowl of candy in my lap, and Maverick was excited to get to wear his Bumblebee costume again.
So excited that he wore it to bed and chose to wear it to work today!

We Had Company!
This weekend Tara and Garrison came down all the way from Buffalo to visit with us! Well, they also had some other important reasons for visiting Florida, but we made sure to manage our time with them as best as we could! Curtis has always been a fan of Tara, but it was stepped up a notch when he realized that her blanket was HEATED!
Saturday we started things off right with cornhole, chili, and terrapin beer (played Maryland, get it?!) at this tailgate.
So the main reason for Garrison and Tara's visit down south was because Garrison was an honorary team captain for Saturday's game, which gave all of us pregame passes on the field!
Sara and Jason also came to visit!
Brent and Garrison with Clint Purvis
So glad I blogged this before we forgot about the entire weekend :)
This weekend was also our first official weekend moved back in our Thomasville home. Yay!

Wrapping things up at Crawford!
Here are a few pictures of where things are over at Crawford. Besides adding lighting and few things in the bathroom, the upstairs is pretty much complete and ready to be decorated. I will get better pictures at that point with real bedding and organized or hidden clutter.
Still have a little ways to go in the kitchen and we are about to wrap up the painting in the dining room. For now we are dusting, dusting, and dusting!
